I know this is an old post but I agree 100% and stand behind you and anyone else. My kids just started school (kindergarden) and in CA of all places. I'm waiting to see what happens when I wear my NRA shirts on campus. ;0) Jessice, NEVER stop standing for what you beleive in.

The curfews are UNCONSTITUTIONAL. As stated by the 14th Amendment "No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens in the united states" Weather teenagers are adults or not they are still citizens of the U.S.

Those Casa staff sure whipped those kids into shape with the exciting living condition.

I'm sure these people abused at the Casa would definitely like to send the staff gifts and nice cards telling them how much they helped them and how much fun they had at the Casa.

I was there for two years and was there when it closed. After casa closed I was sent Iowa to Midwest academy and I disagree with all of you. I was an addict also, and although proper therapy was not provided, it did change my life and the way I think of things. Y'all basically sound like a bunch of victims to me. I relapsed my first year in college in 2006 but noe have been clean and sober since then. I'm married and have two beautiful boys and my family is wonderful. Sorry but y'all need to be grateful for what your parents tried to provide for you and stop acting like this horrible act was committed by your parents by sending you there and the staff at Casa.

If you're going to live in this country and be able to live free, then yes, you should stand and pledge to your country. You're not only saluting the country, but the men and women who FOUGHT for you. Put their lives at risk for YOU, who thinks you have the "right" to sit down and not even give them a minute of your time? I am 18 years old and out of high school and I was the only student in all of my classes to stand up and salute our flag. Well, MY flag. If you dont stand up it shouldn't be considered yours. Our country was fouunded on those beliefs, and for whatever reason you dont agree with them, then this country isn't the place for you. America should be a place for patriotism and people willing to stand up for it, not people who dont even have the common courtesy to stand up for it. "It is more patriotic to stand up for your rights than to stand up for the pledge." Right. Next time you choose not to stand up, remember what our flag stands for, and the people who gave you what it stands for. If you dont appreciate that, get the hell out of this country.

I really wish articles like this would get more attention. If any american (from any party) heard that the government was essentially wasting nearly $200 million dollars a year then they would be furious. (I understand that this article is old, but I don't think the mentality on anti drug campaigns has changed, and I know we have worse money troubles in this country than we used to.) Unfortunately nobody will believe that the anti drug campaign actually makes things worse. If parents would start thinking for themselves and stop relying on the tv to teach their children we wouldn't have these problems. The last few generations of parents have not been up to par on this issue in my opinion. I don't want to generalize, but you still have to look at the overall pattern.

I always tell myself while at highschool that I can just walk out if I don't feel like putting up with something.
If a cop tried cuffing me, I'd flip out.

I am a teenager. I love the constitution, and what our country was founded on. But, given the way that our government operates within our country and the rest of the world, I will not pledge to this republic.
